Retro Cuties Interview

Name of your website?

Retro Cuties

Your name?

Robert DeNicola

Your Location (city, etc)

South Setauket / Centereach

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Retro Cuties is home for women's retro vintage style clothing and retro dresses. We specialize in women's dresses that are vintage, retro, occasional, and formal. Come shop for retro vintage style clothing fashion, vintage dresses and women's apparel with Pink & Bleu for the best in Retro Vintage fashion.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I wanted to design clothing that was flirty and classic like the styles of the 40's and 50's. The glamour of the old days is timeless and should be resurrected.

What is your favorite article that you offer?

That's a very hard question because I love all of our designs. But, if I had to choose I would say it would be our "Traffic Halter" dress. I love the color scheme and way it was designed to form around your curves.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I created the characters Pink and Bleu to be the spokeswomen for my site. Just looking at them can answer your question! You'll find them all around the site.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Our clothing is made of great quality fabrics and are inexpensively priced. A lot of other retro, vintage and rockabilly websites offer apparel that are highly overpriced.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To make every woman feel beautiful.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

The harder you work the more you succeed. I plan on working as hard as I can so I can bring these designs to everyone.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I wouldn't. It was designed exactly as we intended from the start.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes. It's my passion.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Nothing yet....don't jinx us!

What has been your biggest challenge?

Finding the right fabric for each design. It is difficult to locate quality fabric that flatters each different style of dress.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth. Please pass us along.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasn't. It's great!

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up?

The site's been up for over a year and will be there for many years to come.

Do you also supply to vendors?

Yes. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

What is your website address?
