Designerbrands2u specialise in finding branded clothes and accessories at great prices and offer them to our customers at prices our competitors find it hard to beat. We are YOUR ONLINE DESIGNER OUTLET.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The success of web trading in the UK is amazing and i have worked for several companies who use this so i decided that i would set up an online shop with no frills.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Designer Brands 2U is my first website.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It was very difficult but I was thinking about what the site would actually do and it delivers designer brands 2 u!!! It just made sense to call it this.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
I keep my overheads low so I can afford to pass on any savings to my customers keeping my prices low.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I will keep this site but I am looking at breaking into other markets and setting up a few more ecommerce sites.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
There is no question here that it was all worth it, you can only get out what you put in!!
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I am quite happy at the way things are going and my ethos mon keeping prices low, i would probably open a retail store!!
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes without a doubt, i look forward to the challenge.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Marketing your site can be very costly and cause lots of stress, there are a lot of hurdles out there to deal with.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Marketing my website.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Directories and links are a very affordable way promotion especially on start up.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It has been a loty harder than expected.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It seems for ever and forever.
What have you learned from your experiences with your site.
I have gained a lot of skills within the ecommerce markets and I think the most inportnat lesson is never to take anything for granted and CHECK IT OUT!!!
