Please give us a short summary of your website?
Red Eye FrogX is a new Costa Rican eco-friendly clothing and apparel company. We sell men's bamboo/organic cotton shirts, women's hemp/organic cotton shirts and tank tops, bamboo/cotton baseball hats, and organic cotton tote bags.
Red Eye FrogX believes in supporting and promoting foundations in Costa Rica dedicated to preserving the environment and species. Currently, we are donating 10% of our profits to Vida Marina Foundation in Drake Bay, Costa Rica.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I had a dream of launching my own business.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
In September of 2008. It is the official Red Eye FrogX website, where we sell our clothing. We also provide our customers with information about the Red Eye FrogX brand and what organizations we are currently working with.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The Red Eye Frog is a symbol of the rainforest.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We sell original Costa Rican eco-friendly clothing and apparel. No other company sells eco-friendly clothing while working with and donating to only Costa Rican foundations.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My ultimate goals for Red Eye FrogX is to create a brand that is recognized as the Costa Rican eco-concious brand. I want to not only make this company profitable but to truly make a difference in the preservation of the Costa Rican environment and species.
I believe as an owner of a profitable company, I have a responsibility to not only be eco-concious but to also support foundation who are working to make this world a better place to live in.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would be able to greatly expand our clothing and apparel line. Our ability to market and build the Red Eye FrogX brand would greatly increase.
I would start working with local Costa Rican musicians to get Red Eye FrogX to promote concerts that would donate money toward specific foundations in Costa Rica. I would develop products specifically for these events.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, I have prepared for rapid growth.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Product development costs. Clothing being damaged and unsellable.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Having the capital to be able to expand our clothing line, advertise, and hire staff to get our products in stores.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We have made some excellent connections through myspace, blogging, mass emailing, and sending out press releases online.
