He's a handsome guy walking with the posture of a model, dressed in a rag-tag but well-coordinated combination of clothes. He looks into the middle distance, giving some people that piercing look, maybe getting a few giggles from here and there.
But don't mistake him for a supermodel, because he's simply a homeless man in the city of Ningbo, China. You ask, why is he here? Well, he just became a new favorite among blogs and social networks because of his handsome face and bohemian way of dressing up, two characteristics that you won't often see in other homeless men out there. Among these networks, he has been famously called, "Brother Sharp."
The man is 5ft 8in tall, around 35 years old, and always has a cigarette in between his fingers. He is often compared to popular Asian actors such as Takeshi Kaneshiro and Ken Watanabe because of his looks. Some people even gave the comment that he didn't look much like a homeless man. Instead, they described him to be a vagabond, whose wrinkle between the brows just attract even more admirers. His clothes are dirty, sure, but people have noted that they were in very good condition.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the discovery of Brother Sharp only fueled the interest in the fashion idea of looking like homeless men, a fashion trend often considered to be tasteless by a lot of quarters. These critics claim that homelessness is a serious condition that should not be trivialized into a fashion idea.
And Brother Sharp? Many mysteries go around him, and social workers are happier that way. They say that Brother Sharp is in a sensitive state. Some people who claim they've met him said that the man was mentally incapacitated and that he always runs away when approached.
Nobody knows for sure what happened to Brother Sharp. Nobody knows what hardships he had to go through. I just hope that with this shot to fame, governments will find homeless people to be nearer to the top of their priority lists.
