How to get someone else to do your laundry for free

I hate laundry. Especially after it has gone through both washer and dryer. Then it comes time to sort it and take it where it belongs, if you even know who each piece belongs to.

That is just the tip of the proverbial laundry basket. What I hate about laundry the most is when someone comes down and wants to put some laundry in, and there is already clothes in both the washer and dryer.

They take the stuff out of the dryer, stuff it all on top of the machines and happily walk away. I have mostly grown teenagers who are supposed to be responsible for their own laundry, leaving me to do just mine and my husband's.

They have purchased many of their own clothes so I am not really sure who a lot belongs to when I find it lying there.

I decided it was time for a change. I gave them each a laundry marker and asked them to label the tags inside their clothes with their initial. I told them this was to keep each other from saying an article of clothing was theirs when it really wasn't.

    They bought that story.

Now, when it comes time to do the laundry, if I catch someone stuffing clothes on the dryer, the penalty is one week doing EVERYONE'S laundry.

I haven't had to do laundry for a month already! Problem solved.
