Wasn't the song "Material Girl" about poking fun at women who live for shopping and jewels which ran rampant in the 80's? I find it hugely ironic and a little disappointing that the Madonna, one of the original champions of throwing the middle finger in the face of the system, is now selling out essentially by associating the name of that song with this clothing line. It is great she and her daughter are teaming up, and the budget clothing industry can use more competition but just don't name it that! Why not "Like a Virgin" or something like that, given the target market.
