While there is truth to the ideal, traditional expectations of how men should dress formally, there is also a paradigm shift in the importance of it. Before there was greater importance on the image of the man rather than the substance. Now, in business meetings it is ok to not dress as formally as tradition requires as more and more clients are delving into the substance of what the man is saying rather than what he is wearing.
