Please give us a short summary of your website?
Our Curvysea online boutique specialises in stylish and flattering Plus Size Swimwear for larger women. Our range includes quality swimsuits, tankinis, skirtinis and swimdresses.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
As my sister is size 18 (plus size)and she is style conscious,I understand how frustated she is to find only few different styles for plus size swimsuits and that inspired me to cater swimsuits for full figured women as well as to launch my own website.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My website is pretty new, it was launched about some months ago. It was www.curvysea.com
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I decide to choose the name Curvysea because it is also my swimwear brand and I want to promote the brand to my target customers.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Here at Curvysea, we specialise in nothing but swimwear for full figured women -- because we don't believe that a swimsuit designed for a size two model is going to look good on *everyone*! So instead, we've taken REAL women like you and designed flattering, appealing but not too revealing swimsuits that make you feel sexy and supported in all the right places! Plus, every one of our swimsuits is made of the finest quality fabric, so they'll not only look great they will last longer.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My goal is to get the website on the first page ranking of Google, Yahoo. MSN and other search engines.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I understand success doesn't come that easy, at the moment, I have to invest my time and money into the website as curvysea website is still new but I hope the invesment will soon balance against my success.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would add some special features on my website and do more paid reseaches to improve the product lines as well as marketing.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, I believe I'd be able to keeep up with the demand.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Ad words campaigns costs for the website (not meet ROI) and inventory management as my products are seasonal.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge is to compete with big websites and with already-known brands.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Adwords campaigns on Google, Yahoo, MSN.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Time consuming on running my website is longer than my expectations.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
As I said the site is still new so it's hard to say but I think I will keep it up consistently and I will try my best no matter the results turned out.
Will someone look at my website and give me his/her opinion as a customer?
I would greatly appreciate if you'd tell me what you think about my website (the layout; speed; navigation; product pricing; anything else)!
