A new season is here once again. Time to drop those jackets and snow attire because winter is already going away. Spring is already here to greet us with a brand new seasonal cycle. Here in the Clothes Blog, however, we don't just think about the changing of seasons for the sake of thinking about it. We discuss the change of seasons because that means new trends and fads that will be "in" for the new season to come. So what is the consensus in the fashion world today?
Last year, long and flowy skirts for the women were the rage during Spring 2009. In 2010, the consensus is Spring 2010 will see a lot of those light, airy dresses that sometimes look like T-shirts already. Skirts that also have a high waistline and goes down until the thighs or the knees will also be particularly popular. We're also going to see a mild revival of clothing coming from the 70's and the 80's, so you better take out those clothes with the floral designs because they are going to be "in" this spring.
High waistlines will really become the center of this season, which isn't really surprising because we've already seen low-rise jeans getting at the lowest point possible. Also another thing that we'll see more frequently this season is the use of bright colors. Bright blue, red, green, orange, yellow--it doesn't really matter what color it is, as long as it is bright. This is usually the trend during spring.
Finally, well, yes, big sunglasses are still in. They've been there for a pretty long time already, surviving a number of years. But though there are already indications that they are starting to get out of style, they're still in for this season.
Ah spring. It's the time of the year when people start anew. New life sprouts. New hope. New frienships. Maybe new relationships. Spring is the new beginning at the end of the winter. I hope that it will be bright for you--bright as the bright colors that are a hit during the seasons.
