Please give us a short summary of your website?
We are a retailer of cool baby clothing and accessories. We pride ourselves on providing the coolest designs at the lowest prices while maintaining great quality. We screen print all of our onesies and toddler t's instead of using the cheapo iron on transfer method commonly found on many of our competitors websites.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
When shopping for cool baby clothes for my daughter I found most online retailers wanted $25 or more for a onesie! We wanted to produce top quality cool baby clothes for half the price of our competitors... and we did!
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was for my old Jeep Club based in Dayton, Ohio back in 2002.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We used to call my 1 year old daughter "crazy baby" when she would shake her head back and forth like a crazy baby!
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Better designs, better quality, better selection, way better price, cheaper shipping, faster shipping, and we pride ourselves on superior customer service.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Continue to provide the coolest designs at the best price. I also would like to see Crazy Baby Clothing Co. stuff in several "better" mall stores.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It's pretty early in the game but all signs point in the right direction. I definately have a lot of time and money invested. Seems as though the work has just begun.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Wow... Advertising. I wish I had more of an advertising budget. Expand product lines too I suppose. Why? are you going to offer me money?!
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I would like to think so. Progressive growth is ideal though.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Pay per click. I hate it. But early in the game it's a necessary tool to acquire more business.
What has been your biggest challenge?
All of it. It took a year to get the store from conception to online!
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Studying white hat SEO. Acquiring quality inbound links and constantly trying to do something everyday to promote the site.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It's pretty much what I expected it to be.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It's only been up since September of this year (2007). I hope for years to come!
